6/16/2026 11:30:00 AM | Field Hockey
NEWARK, Del. – The University of Delaware field hockey program has revealed its 2026 schedule, head coach Tara Zollinger announced Tuesday. The Fightin' Blue Hens will play in 18 games, including 10 at Fred P. Rullo Stadium, the second year-in-a-row with double-digit home contests.
Delaware enters its second season in the MPSF, where they won the inaugural conference championship over UC Davis.
The Hens will compete against four teams this upcoming season who were ranked in the final 2024 Penn Monto/NFHCA Division I National Coaches Poll, with three of those contests taking place at home.
UD will kick off its season with three-straight home games, taking on Villanova (Aug. 28), Monmouth (Aug. 30), and Penn State (Sept. 6).
The first road trip of the year will be to Ohio, playing return games from 2025 at Ohio State (Sept. 11) and Kent State (Sept. 13).
To round out September, UD will welcome Wake Forest (Sept. 18) and Fairfield to Newark (Sept. 27), with a Sunday road game in the middle, at Old Dominion (Sept. 20).
Starting off the month of October, the Hens will be on the road at Temple (Oct. 2) and Maryland (Oct. 4). Zollinger will face off against her former collegiate head coach and UD alumnae, Missy Meharg for the first time as head coaches at the collegiate level when the squad travels to College Park.
The Blue & Gold will then play against two Patriot League opponents, at home against Lehigh (Oct. 9) and at Lafayette (Oct. 11).
Delaware remains on the road after its jaunt against the Leopards, traveling down to Virginia to face Richmond (Oct. 16) and VCU (Oct. 18).
The season will wrap up at home for UD with four-consecutive games, as it takes on MPSF opponent UC Davis (Oct. 23), Georgetown (Oct. 25), Rider (Oct. 30), and Towson (Oct. 31).
