Cellini, Clarke, and Kousouris Selected to Compete at 2026 Senior Nexus Championship

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - University of Delaware field hockey student-athletes Ella Cellini, Katie Clarke, and Penelope Kousouris have been selected to compete at the 2026 Senior Nexus Championship (NXC), USA Field Hockey announced Wednesday.

The event, presented by Osaka Hockey, will be held at the Virginia Beach Regional Training Center in Virginia Beach, Va. from July 17 to 19.

The Senior NXC is held annually and features 144 elite collegiate athletes, post-collegiate athletes, and members of Junior High Performance. During the spring, athletes trained at one of the seven USA Field Hockey Senior Nexus Training Sites for an opportunity to be selected to the Senior NXC.Â
It serves as a selection opportunity for the 2026-27 Junior USWNT Selection Camps, U.S. Women's National Development Squad, and USWNT.

Cellini, a Phoenixville, Pa., native, played in all 18 games for the Fightin' Blue Hens as a freshman in 2025. The midfielder recorded an assist against Bucknell for her first collegiate point.

Clarke played in 18 games, starting 10 in her first season in Newark. She recorded two assists across the season.
Â
Kousouris will be an alternate at the event. The incoming sophomore transfer from Wake Forest played in six games for the Demon Deacons in 2025.
