Swimming & Diving's Namakonov & Pastris Earn CSCAA Scholar All-America Honors

RICHMOND, Va. - University of Delaware men's swimming and diving's Matvei Namakonov earned College Swimming & Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) First Team Scholar All-American team honors for the 2026 spring season while women's swimming & diving's Alex Pastris earned a Second Team All-American laurel, the organization announced this week.

To qualify for First-Team Scholar All-America, student-athletes must have earned a GPA of 3.5 or higher and participated in their national championship. Second-Team selections, must have also earned a 3.5 GPA or higher and met an NIC "A" time standard in Division I or an NCAA "B" qualifying standard for the national championship or qualified for a diving zone qualification meet for Division II, Division III, and NAIA.

The CSCAA honored 2,230 student-athletes across NCAA Divisions I, II and III; along with the NAIA and NJCAA.

Namakonov, one of the most prolific swimmers in program history and a four-time NCAA qualifier, has achieved a 3.89 GPA while majoring in physics over his four years at Delaware.

The conference record holder and ASUN championship meet record holder in the 100-breast, holds eight school records for the Fightin' Blue Hens. He became the first swimmer to achieve NCAA First Team All-American status by making the NCAA A Final in team history. His 50.49 swim in the preliminary round of the NCAA Championships is the 18th-fastest swim in the 100-breast of all time.

Pastris, an ASUN champion in the 1-meter dive, competed in NCAA Diving Zones for the third year in a row. This was in addition to a stellar performance in the classroom, where she graduated with a 3.565 GPA majoring in finance.
