Softball Has 11 Named as Easton/NFCA All-America Scholar-Athletes

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Caylin Blazys, Marlayna Capaldi, Bridget Chapman, Josie Crossman, Grace Hausamann, Allie Nankivell, Gianna Poletti, Gabriella Pudimott, Katie Scheivert, Sydney Shaffer, Kylie Wilkerson were all named to the Easton/NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete honors for the 2025-26 academic year. The 11 selections marked the second-straight year Delaware had at least 10 selections, and were the second-most in program history behind the 13 honorees last season.Â
Blazys, a university studies major, hit .241/.323/.328 in 41 games and .294/.368/.324 in conference play
Capaldi, an honoree for the second-straight year, was a management major before graduating from UD. In two seasons with the Blue Hens after transferring from South Alabama, she played in 54 games and graduated with a 3.69 GPA.
Chapman, a human services major, is a two-time selection. During the 2026 season, she hit .258 with a .409 slugging percentage and four home runs in 50 games.
Crossman, a sport management major, is also a two-time selection during her first two collegiate seasons. A sport management major, Crossman had a breakout season as she was an NFCA All-East Region Third-Team pick and a Second-Team All-CUSA selection. She pitched to a 3.42 ERA in 145.1 innings while going 14-9 with three shutouts.Â
Nankivell, a health behavior science major, had a historic freshman season where she earned First-Team All CUSA recognition. She set freshman single-season records for runs scored (39), batting average (.400), and on base percentage (.476) while stealing 19 bases.Â
Poletti, a medical diagnostics major, arrived in the winter after transferring from Penn State. She will make her Delaware debut in 2027 after playing 67 games with the Nittany Lions in two seasons.Â
Pudimott, a management major, appeared in six games as a catcher in her debut season.Â
Scheivert, a sport management major, wrapped up a historic four-year career by earning her second all-conference honor and was Delaware's Mary Ann Hitchens Award recipient. She graduated with a 3.92 GPA while ranking in the top 10 in program history in career games played (211), runs scored (135), hits (211), stolen bases (46), RBIs (97), doubles (35), and total bases (273).Â
Shaffer, an elementary education major, finished her career with First-Team All-Region and All-Conference selections. She graduated with a 3.39 GPA while finishing as the all-time program leader in on base percentage (.483), slugging percentage (.675), OPS (1.158), and walks (121).
Wilkerson, a finance major, appeared in 28 games in her first season at Delaware after transferring from George Mason. She won five games, including UD's game on May 1 against WKU where she pitched 6.2 shutout innings.Â
UD ended the season at 31-24 and 17-10 in conference play in its inaugural CUSA season. Delaware has won at least 30 games in three consecutive seasons for the first time in program history.
