Softball's 2027 Conference USA Schedule Released

DALLAS - University of Delaware softball's Conference USA schedule for the 2027 season has been released, the league announced Wednesday.
Delaware will play nine conference series - four in Newark, Del. and five on the road - for a total of 27 league games.Â
UD will begin the CUSA portion of its schedule on March 12 with its first-ever trip to Murfreesboro, Tenn. to play Middle Tennessee - which the Blue Hens swept at home this past season. Delaware is 5-0 all-time against the Blue Raiders. The first conference home series comes against Jacksonville State, the defending CUSA regular season and tournament champions, starting on March 19. Delaware wraps up March by going to Springfield, Mo. for the first time to play Missouri State.Â
UD stays on the road to begin April with its first-ever road games against WKU in Bowling Green, Ky. starting on April 2. Delaware will host Liberty for the first time beginning on April 9, then heads back on the road for its first road trip against Kennesaw State. The Blue Hens swept Kennesaw State last season in Newark, outscoring the Owls 26-5 in three games. Back at home, Delaware hosts New Mexico State beginning on April 23 in a rematch of a CUSA Tournament game that the Blue Hens won 11-7 on May 6. In that game, Maddie Diamond hit her 16th and 17th home runs of the season, setting a new freshman home run record and becoming the seventh player in CUSA history to record a multi-home run game in the conference tournament.Â
In the penultimate weekend of the regular season, Delaware will travel to Miami to play FIU on the road for the first time since 2016. UD's first series as a member of CUSA last season came against FIU in Newark, which Delaware won 2-1. The regular season wraps up at home against Sam Houston on May 6, the Bearkats' first games against Delaware in Newark.Â
The conference tournament is scheduled for May 12-15, hosted by Jacksonville State.Â
All dates are subject to change and game times will be announced at a later date.
UD ended the season at 31-24 and 17-10 in conference play in its inaugural CUSA season. Delaware has won at least 30 games in three consecutive seasons for the first time in program history. The Blue Hens return first-team all-CUSA sophomores Maddie Diamond and Allie Nankivell and third-team All-Region selection Josie Crossman in the circle.Â
