Strong Sunday Showing Propels Men’s Golf Into Top 10 at Bryan National Collegiate

BROWNS SUMMIT, N.C. – The University of Delaware men's golf team fired a 1-under par as a team on Sunday as the Fightin' Blue Hens moved up into a tie for ninth at the season-opening Bryan National Collegiate, hosted by UNCG. Delaware finished among the top 10 of the 13-team field with a 54-hole score of 11-over par 875 at the par-72, 7,101 yard Bryan Park.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Delaware's six players combined to record 47 birdies and two eagles over the three rounds. The Blue Hens were one of four team to turn in an under-par round on Tuesday.
- Playing as an individual, Jeffrey Homer was UD's top finisher as he finished among the top 20 at even par for his 54 holes. He had eight total birdies and had a bogey-free third round on Tuesday as he carded back-to-back rounds of 1-under par 71.
- Itzoe shot a 2-under par 70 during Saturday's second round, firing consecutive eagles on the 10th and 11th holes to go along with four birdies. He finished with nine total birdies for the tournament.
- Xin carded a career-low round of 3-under par 69 during Tuesday's final round as he recorded five of his eight total birdies.
- Matthew Homer tied for the team lead with nine birdies, while Iampongsai had eight and Wu added six.
UP NEXT
The Blue Hens will return to action next week when they make the short trip for the Temple Invitational. The two-day, three-round tournament will be held September 21-22 at The 1912 Club.
