Football Hosts Coastal Carolina on Saturday

NEWARK, Del. – The University of Delaware football team will host the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers on Saturday, September 19 at 11:30 a.m. on CBS Sports Network. This will be the first game between the two schools.

ABOUT THE FIGHTIN' BLUE HENS

The Fightin' Blue Hens enter the contest 1-1, coming off a 35-26 road loss to Vanderbilt. Delaware led 17-14 at the halftime break, becoming the first group of six team to lead an SEC team at halftime since Toledo led Mississippi State, 28-3, on September 14, 2024 and the first CUSA team to do so since New Mexico State led Auburn, 10-7, on November 18, 2023.
QB Nick Minicucci leads the team with 512 passing yards and three passing TDs. Minicucci's 11 completions at Vanderbilt gives him 481 for his career, tying him for fifth all-time with Pat Devlin. The senior signal caller now sits at 41 career touchdown passes, tying him with Joe Flacco and Rick Scully for sixth all-time in UD history.
RB Jo Silver, who is coming off his first 100-yard rushing performance of the season at Vandy, is tops on the team with 128 yards on the campaign. He scampered for 109 yards on 16 carries against the Commodores for 6.8 yards per carry.
WR Da'Wain Lofton, who notched his first-career 100-yard receiving game at Vanderbilt, paces the team with seven catches for 206 yards and a touchdown. The Fort Worth, Texas native set career bests in receptions (four) and receiving yards (142), while also making a career-long catch of 57 yards for a touchdown at Vandy.
WR Bryson Graves became the first Hen to block a punt and return it for a touchdown since Quincy Watson did so against Delaware State on September 10, 2022. Graves' punt block was the first by a Blue Hen since Marcus Yarns vs. N.C. A&T on October 14, 2023.
LB Gavin Moul leads the Hens with 16 tackles through two weeks. This past week, he recorded 10 tackles for his ninth-career double-digit tackle game, to go with a forced fumble.
LB Colin Gallagher, who has started his first two career games this season, paces the Blue & Gold defense with 2.0 sacks and 3.0 TFLs.

ABOUT THE CHANTICLEERS

The Chanticleers are 1-1, coming off a 45-7 home win over Fordham.
Coastal Carolina is led by first-year head coach Ryan Beard, who owns a 20-17 career record, including his three seasons at the helm of Missouri State.
Former Missouri State QB Deuce Bailey runs the offense for the Chants, completing 33-of-62 passes for 576 yards and six touchdowns on the young season.
On the ground, Coastal Carolina is led by RB Jevon Edwards, who has 71 yards through two games.
WR Colton Hinton is the team's leading receiver with six catches and 154 receiving yards to go with two TDs.
On defense, LB Marcellius Pulliam, a transfer from Michigan State, leads the way with 18 tackles.
