Former Blue Hens standout Chibsah Faisal joined the Delaware sidelines as a member of the men's soccer coaching staff in August 2015, and begins his seventh season in the fall of 2021.

During his first season as a volunteer director of operations, the 2015 squad posted a 10-7-4 record and advanced to the CAA finals for the second consecutive season while boasting three-time NSCAA Division I All-American Guillermo Delgado and Regional honoree Thomas de Villardi. Ben Sampson also became the third Delaware player to earn CoSIDA Academic All-America® accolades, joining Matt Haney (2004, 2005, 2006) and Kyle Davis (2009).

The 2016 team went 12-8-1, including a second place in the league with a 5-3 conference mark. The Blue Hens posted identical 2-1 wins over Charleston and William & Mary to win the CAA Tournament, before falling to No. 22 Providence in the NCAA Tournament.

Delaware competed in the CAA Quarterfinals in 2018 and 2019, as the Blue Hens have now advanced to the CAA Tournament in eight of the last 11 seasons.

A native of Accra, Ghana, Faisal played for the Blue Hens from 2008-10 before receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in computer information systems from the University of Delaware in 2011. The midfielder amassed three goals (all game-winning) and one assist in 29 games played after arriving to UD from Prempeh College.

Before returning to the Hens in a coaching capacity, Faisal served as an assistant coach at Wilmington University while also spending time with the Kirkwood Soccer Club and Delaware Youth Soccer Association. He has also worked as an assistant coach at Goldey-Beacom College.
