Nathan Perrone enters his second season leading the program in 2026-27 after earning the permanent role of head coach for the after a standout 2025-26 season, announced on July 1, 2026.
Perrone served as the interim head coach for the program for the 2025-26 season, where the Fightin' Blue Hens entered their first season as a member of Conference USA. In the fall, Perrone coached Tobey Lock and Euan Mackenzie to be the first doubles pair in program history to compete in the NCAA Tournament after winning the ITA Northeast Regional, going 6-0 in the event. During the spring season, Delaware played to a 14-10 record, including 8-0 at home, earning a trip to the Conference USA semifinals after a win over No. 4 Kennesaw State while UD entered as the No. 5 seed. Three athletes earned Conference USA honors, with Mackenzie and Lock being named first team doubles, Lock earning first team singles, and Luke Tollenaar picking up a second team singles laurel. Lock concluded his career mentored by Perrone with a program record 77 individual doubles wins. At the conclusion of his fourth total season in Newark, the Blue Hens have played to a record 32-2 at home during his tenure.
In Perrone's second full-year with the program in 2024-25, the program saw an overall record of 14-9 on a schedule comprised of the nation's top tennis programs. In conference play, the Blue Hens went 3-0 in the regular season and made it to the CAA Championship semifinals before falling to #69 UNCW after winning the doubles point. The men's program saw many post-season honors including Siekanowicz being awarded CAA Rookie of the Year with four student-athletes also represented on the All-CAA rosters. Two athletes earned CSC Academic All-District recognition and Alexandre Gluck broke the program record of career singles matches won with 74 wins. During the fall, freshman Piotr Siekanowicz earned a spot at ITA Men's Sectional Championships in October of 2024. Siekanowicz also was invited to the M15 Ann Arbor competition where he qualified for sectionals, earning his third ATP point.
The 2023-24 season saw many positive changes for Delaware's tennis programs as the staff was restructured. Marc Pibernat entered as the men's team new head coach and worked one-on-one with Perrone to grow the program. In the fall, Alexandre Gluck and Daniel Krulig made it to the gold draw of the ITA Atlantic Regional doubles competition. Senior, Luis Molina successfully broke the program record of career singles matches played at 110 with his battle against Drexel in the spring. Overall, the team garnered a record of 16-4 with 4-1 in CAA play. The team advanced to the CAA Championship Quarterfinals and earned many post-season accolades including two All-CAA honors and five CSC Academic All-District recognitions.
Perrone joined the Blue Hens' tennis program as an assistant coach in January of 2023. In his first spring with the Blue Hens, he helped collect a team record of 16-9. He saw the program to the CAA Championship quarterfinals where two athletes earned post-season All-CAA Honors.
Perrone joins the Delaware staff after a stint as an assistant coach at Drexel, a role he was named to in September of 2022.
Perrone comes to the men's program after completing his bachelor's degree at Saint Joseph's University in 2021. Perrone was one of the most decorated men’s tennis players in program history.
He broke the Hawks’ single-season wins record with 27 in 2022 and was named the Atlantic 10’s Men's Tennis Player of the Year. Perrone earned the Class of 1950 Male Student-Athlete of the Year in 2021 and was named to the Atlantic 10 Conference All-Conference First Team for three-consecutive years.
Perrone also works as a high-performance tennis coach at the Moorestown Field Club, where he works with top nationally-ranked juniors.
