AT DELAWARE
Four-time letter winner for the Blue Hens • impact player who makes the game look effortless and graceful • relied upon to make impact plays all over the field as she adds depth to the attack, midfield and draw units • high school teammate of classmate Shannon Hawley • finished career ninth in program history with 75 draw controls and tied for 21st with 68 games played • four career hat tricks • two-time All-CAA honoree • graduated in May 2016 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in communications from the College of Arts and Sciences.
2016 SEASON
All-CAA Second Team selection that started all 17 games during her final season in a Delaware uniform • registered a career-best season while ranking second for the Hens with 16 assists, fourth overall with 34 points and seventh with 18 goals • also second on the team with 19 draw controls and fifth with 12 caused turnovers • wrapped up career by tying a career-best with five points on two goals and three assists in season finale victory over William & Mary (April 24) • tallied at least one point in all but two contests and multiple points in eight games • collected four ground balls to go along with a hat trick and the game-winning goal in 13-9 win at Rutgers (Feb. 27) • posted three draw controls on three separate occasions • CAA Commissioner’s Academic Honor Roll.
2015 SEASON
Saw action in all 18 games with 17 starts as a junior • had a career-best year with 21 points, 17 goals, 23 groundballs, 24 draw controls and 15 caused turnovers • second in CAA Tournament program history with four draw controls vs. James Madison (May 1) • led off season with a hat trick in 17-5 upset over #16 Georgetown (Feb. 14) • added three draw controls and three caused turnovers against the Hoyas at Delaware Stadium • collected a season-high four groundballs at Villanova (March 11).
2014 SEASON
Appeared in all 17 games for the Blue Hens while starting 12 • registered 20 points off of 15 goals and five assists • opened the season with an impressive career-high five-goal effort in loss at No. 10 Georgetown on Feb. 15 • added two groundballs against the Hoyas • wasted no time getting UD on board with an unassisted goal 30 seconds in at Penn on Feb. 22 • collected a career-best five draw controls against La Salle (March 5) • recorded a season-high four groundballs vs. Monmouth (March 19) • picked up a goal and groundball in team’s CAA Tournament game vs. James Madison (May 2).
2013 SEASON
CAA All-Rookie Team honoree • two-time CAA Rookie of the Week (Feb. 25, March 4) • started 12 of 16 games played for the Blue Hens • third for UD with 20 draw controls • fifth on the team with 13 points, 12 goals and 21 groundballs • added nine caused turnovers • scored first collegiate goal against nationally-ranked Georgetown on Feb. 16 • scooped up a season-best seven groundballs and four draw controls at Monmouth (Feb. 22) • posted two goals in team’s 10-9 victory against No. 11 Loyola (March 13), marking UD’s first victory over a ranked opponent since 2009 and the highest ranked foe since 2000 • collected one goal and one assist in win at Lafayette (March 16) • scored two goals in addition to recording one draw control and one caused turnover in season finale against Hofstra (April 21).

Kara Ann Dattellas • born April 5, 1994 • daughter of Carl and Christine Dattellas • has four siblings, Ashley, Stephanie, Gabriel and Anthony • father played basketball at Lemoyne College • sister, Ashley, played lacrosse at Marist • cites her father as the biggest influence in her life because he coached her throughout her life in multiple ways and was always her biggest fan and biggest critic • began playing lacrosse in third grade • chose Delaware because she loved the team, the campus and the area and it seemed like a perfect fit • enjoys drawing, painting, singing, dancing, eating and hanging out with friends and family • communications major • interned with the Delaware Athletics marketing department.
