At Delaware: Fourth-year member of the squad and a three-year letterwinner as an outside hitter • expected to again challenge for a starting position on the outside • has helped lead the Blue Hens to the Colonial Athletic Association Tournament during each of her first three years, including a pair of trips to the NCAA Tournament • tied for team’s tallest player at 6-2 with Jill Meyers • has recorded 682 kills in 81 career matches and has a career .222 hitting percentage.
2012 Season: Appeared in all 30 matches for the Blue Hens while making 18 starts • ranked second on the team with 2.44 kills per set, while her 249 kills were third on the squad • posted a .182 hitting percentage during the year • ranked third on UD with 19 service aces, sixth with 26 blocks, and seventh with 80 digs • reached double digit kills during 16 matches, including seven of the last eight contests • recorded a season-high 16 kills during a five-set victory over Hofstra on Oct. 20, and added 13 kills in four other matches • had 10 kills and no errors while hitting .556 in a three-set victory at William & Mary on Oct. 7 • set career-highs by posting four blocks against both Georgetown (Sept. 11) and Northeastern (Oct. 19) • also recorded a season-high nine digs while adding 11 kills versus the Huskies • reached double figures in points during 18 matches on the year.
2011 Season: Had a breakthrough year for Delaware as one of team’s most effective hitters • played key role as a sophomore for a team that went 21-13, captured the CAA Tournament title, and advanced to the NCAA Tournament • saw action in all 34 matches and 125 sets on the season • was one of seven UD players to play every set • led the team and was seventh in the CAA with 397 kills (3.18 kills/set) • had eight 15-plus kill matches and 22 double-digit kill matches during the year • Pitt Blue and Gold All-Tournament Team selection after she set a new career-high with 31 kills against Pitt and 17 digs vs. New Mexico on Sept. 17 • 31 kills was the third highest single match mark in school history and the most since Colleen Walsh had 32 vs. William & Mary in 2006 • also set then-career highs with two aces (Nov. 20 vs. VCU) and three blocks (Nov. 19 vs. JMU) • posted double-digit digs in four matches • registered 15-plus points 13 times, including a 32-point match on Sept. 17 at Pitt • had 10 games with a 1.000 serve percentage capped by a 23-chance match on Sept. 17 vs. Kent State that included two aces • tallied 28 kills and 16 blocks during Delaware’s CAA championship run.
2010 Season: Appeared in 17 matches, making one start against Delaware State on Sept. 28 • collected then-career highs with seven kills, 10 attempts, a .700 hitting percentage, three blocks and nine points against the Hornets • tallied three put-downs in her collegiate debut against La Salle on Aug. 27, along with a service ace and one dig • hit at a .714 clip against North Carolina Central on Sept. 11 with five kills on seven swings • recorded a kill on one attempt against Virginia Tech in the first round of NCAA Tournament • played in 28 sets as a true freshman, totaling 26 kills and a .328 hitting percentage • finished with five service aces, five total blocks, and three digs to add up to 34 points for the season.
High School: Exceptional outside hitter at Valencia High School • earned four letters for her performance on the court • honored as an All-Santa Clarita Valley selection and an All-CIF Southern Section pick • named The Signal’s 2009 Girls Volleyball Player of the Year after posting 383 kills and 249 digs as a senior • led her Santa Monica Beach Club team to a third-place showing at the prestigious 2009 Phoenix Volleyball Festival • honored as a member of the California Scholastic Federation.
Personal: Kathleen “Katie” Hank • daughter of Mary and Dave Hank • born March 20, 1992 • enjoys the beach and traveling to new places • honor student as an exercise science major with a minor in disability studies at Delaware • volunteered with the UD Physical Therapy clinic during the summer.
