University of Delaware women's basketball's Trinity Vance was named Conference USA Freshman of the Week after her performances against Loyola (Md.) and Towson. It is the second time a Fightin' Blue Hen has earned a CUSA Weekly Award in program history, joining Kailah Correa, who won the same award last week. Vance averaged 18.5 ppg while shooting 56-percent from the floor in a 2-0 week for the Fightin' Blue Hens. For the week, the Waterloo, S.C. native totaled 37 points in 46 minutes off action off the bench.
Delaware topped former conference rival Towson, 91-80, with the most points scored under fourth-year head coach Sarah Jenkins. In that game, Vance put up her first-career 20+ point outing, finishing with a game-high 23 points on 9-of-13 shooting. In the Hens 67-55 win over Loyola (Md.), Vance scored 14 points with two steals.
