Delaware Women's Basketball Moves Up Two Spots To No. 22 in This Week?s Associated Press Top 25 Poll

NEW YORK – Following a pair of impressive victories, the University of Delaware women's basketball team moved up two spots and is ranked No. 22 in this week's Associated Press Top 25 Poll released Monday.
The Blue Hens, who cracked the top 25 last week for the first time in school history, posted an 81-70 victory at previously unbeaten Princeton, which was receiving votes in last week's poll, on Thursday before easily dispatching William & Mary, 73-57, Sunday in UD's conference opener.
Delaware jumped out to a 46-28 halftime lead at Princeton and cruised to the 11-point win, as junior All-American Elena Delle Donne recorded game-highs of 32 points and nine rebounds. Trumae Lucas added 12 points for the Blue Hens, while Danielle Parker contributed 11 and Akeema Richards chipped in with 10 as Delaware put four players in double figures.
The Hens continued to roll on Sunday, leading by as many as 26 points in the opening half before taking a 44-19 advantage into the break. Delle Donne, who earned CAA Player of the Week honors for the third time this season on Monday, again led the way with 23 points and nine rebounds. Jocelyn Bailey came off the bench to contribute 11 points and five rebounds, while Lauren Carra also reached double figures with 10 points.
With the pair of wins, Delaware improved its record to 6-0 for the first time in school history.
Baylor continues to hold down the top spot in the poll as the Bears collected all 39 first place votes, while Connecticut, Notre Dame Stanford and Maryland round out the top five.
The Blue Hens look to remain undefeated with two games this week, hosting Yale Monday at 7 p.m. before traveling to ACC foe Wake Forest on Sunday at 2 p.m.
