NEWARK, Del. -- The University of Delaware women's golf team will compete in five tournaments this fall as the Blue Hens begin their second season as a Division I program.
Delaware opens its 2012 fall campaign on Sept. 9-10 when it competes in the Towson Invitational at Hillendale Country Club in Phoenix, Md. The Blue Hens will then participate in the Wolverine Invitational hosted by the University of Michigan at the UM Golf Club in Ann Arbor, Mich. on Sept. 22-23.
Following a weekend off, UD will take part in the Rutgers Invitational on Oct. 5-6 in Piscataway, N.J., before competing in the Indiana Hoosier Invitational at Bellterra Resort Golf Course in Florence, Ind.
The Blue Hens will wrap up their fall slate on Oct. 21-23 by participating in the Florida International/Pat Bradley Invitational at Lakewood Ranch Golf & Country Club in Lakeland Ranch, Fla.
Delaware, led by second-year head coach Patty Post, will be looking to build on its successful inaugural season when the Blue Hens posted three top-five finishes and placed among the top 10 in all but two tournaments. UD returns its entire squad including 2011-12 Team MVP Andrea Slane (at right), who competed in all 11 tournaments while averaging 79.59 shots per round as a freshman.
