Beneck and Lawton Advance in ITA Atlantic Regional Singles Play

BLACKSBURG, Va. – Seniors Troy Beneck (Wilmington, Del.) and Adam Lawton (Estepona, Spain) each advanced following wins Saturday in the USTA/ITA Atlantic Regional singles bracket while the pair were eliminated from doubles action following a second round loss.
Following a three-set first round victory Friday, Beneck defeated Temple's Kristian Marquardt, 6-2, 6-2. Beneck will face off against Virginia's JC Aragone Sunday morning.
Also in singles play, Lawton picked up a 6-3, 6-1 win against Georgtown's Alex Tropiano. Lawton plays Virginia Tech's Andreas Bjerrehus Sunday morning.
After a first round bye, Beneck and Lawton fell to Liberty's Dillon Segur and Egon Sammai, 8-6, in doubles action.

§ Troy Beneck is 12-3 in singles action this season and 64-32 in his four seasons at Delaware. This career mark is good for third in UD history. Chris Hincker (2007-11) is second with a career record of 69-33.
