No. 16 Blue Hens Set as First Seed as Pairings Announced for 2013 CAA Women's Basketball Championship Presented by Jani-King

RICHMOND, Va. – The pairings are set for the 2013 CAA Women's Basketball Championship, presented by Jani-King, which will be held March 14-17 at The Show Place Arena in Upper Marlboro, Md. The University of Delaware, the 2012 CAA Champion, has been set as the #1 seed after finishing the regular season with an unblemished 18-0 mark for the second consecutive season.
First round action tips off at noon Thursday as #8 George Mason takes on #9 UNCW. The nationally ranked Blue Hens will face the winner of the match at noon Friday.
With a win over George Mason/UNCW, Delaware will play at 2 p.m. Saturday in the semifinals against the winner of #4 Northeastern vs. #5 Hofstra. The Huskies and Pride play at 2:30 p.m. Friday.
The championship game is slated for 2 p.m. on Sunday. Should the Hens advance, they could match up against #2 James Madison, #3 Drexel, #6 William & Mary or #7 Towson.
All eight games of the CAA Women's Basketball Championship will be available via various multimedia platforms. Delaware's Friday quarterfinal contest will be streamed online at CAA.TV. Saturday's 2 p.m. semifinal will be televised on Comcast SportsNet Mid-Atlantic PLUS, The Comcast Network-Philadelphia, Comcast SportsNet New England, Comcast SportsNet Southeast and WECT (Wilmington, N.C.). The championship game is scheduled to be televised on Comcast SportsNet Mid-Atlantic, The Comcast Network Philadelphia, Comcast SportsNet New England, Comcast SportsNet Southeast and WECT. Delaware captured its first-ever CAA Tournament title last season and was the 2013 preseason favorite for a second title.
