Delaware Women's Tennis a No. 4 Seed while Men's Tennis a No. 5 Seed in Upcoming Colonial Athletic Association Championships

The University of Delaware women's squad earned a No. 4 seeding for the tournament and will take on fifth-seeded Drexel University at Noon Friday. The Blue Hens concluded the 2013 regular season with an 11-5 overall record and a 4-2 mark in league action while the Dragons finished 2-2 in the CAA. Just over a week ago, UD defeated Drexel, 5-2, in Philadelphia.
The winner will advance to Saturday's semifinals with a 10 a.m. scheduled match against No. 1 seed William & Mary. The women's championship final is slated for 10 a.m. Sunday.
Other first round match ups include No. 3 Towson vs. No. 6 James Madison and No. 2 UNCW vs. No. 7 Hofstra.
On the men's side, the Blue Hens (5-10, 1-4 CAA) received a No. 5 seed and will also face the Dragons, who were selected as the No. 4 seed, at 3 p.m. Friday. Delaware picked up a 1-4 record in the CAA this season while Drexel was 2-1. The two teams matched up on April 6 with the Dragons pulling out a tight 4-3 victory.
With a victory, UD will advance to Saturday's semifinals with a 2 p.m. match against No. 1 UNCW. The men's championship final is scheduled for 2 p.m. Sunday.
The other first round match up includes No. 3 James Madison vs. No. 6 Hofstra. That winner will advance to the semifinals to take on No. 2 William & Mary.
Delaware is looking to advance to the CAA Tournament semifinals for the first time in both men's and women's tennis since joining the league in 2001-02.
