University of Delaware Varsity Fours Crew Takes First Place in Rowing Quad Meet at Bucknell

LEWISBERRY, Pa. -- The University of Delaware women's rowing team picked up a first place finish in the Varsity Fours competition and posted eight other runner-up finishes to highlight a quad-meet against Connecticut, West Virginia, and host Bucknell University Saturday at Lake Pinchot.
Delaware picked up its first victory of the season as the Varsity Fours crew of coxswain Molly Gardner, Alexandra Cruz, Danielle Lawler, Kaitlin Flood, and Shannon Bell raced to a winning time of 8:31.0 to easily outdistance runner-up Connecticut which had a time of 8:40.7. In the squad's second race of the day, the Hens finished second behind West Virginia (7:27.5) with a time of 7:46.8.
The Blue Hens also finished second in both Novice Eights races it took part in, second in both Second Varsity Eights races, second in both Varsity Eights competitions, and second in the sole Novice Fours race.
The Novice Eights boat consisted of coxswain Sarah Tenenbaum, Annie Waskover, Erin Dunne, Naomi Balodemas, Anne Livingstone, Haley Northrup, Samantha Noel, Megan Kirby, and Kathleen Garrity.
The Second Varsity Eights team included coxswain Jamie Noce, Denise Cirelli, Jennifer Majcher, Shannon Taylor, Ally Crossman, Angela Quinn, Corey Holloway, Meredith Murphy, and Lily Guttentag.
The Varsity Eights crew consisted of coxswain, Hayley Diverio, Holly Dodge, Sarah Slotoroff, Jennifer Kohler, Catherine Manner, Bethany Porter, Calla Cissel, Bethany Callaway, and Alexandra Smart.
The Novice Fours team included coxswain Curtira Williams, Teresa Kontos, Sharon Dominguez, Jennifer Boone, and Katherine Sneddon.
