Delaware Women's Soccer Announces 2013 Team Captains (Aug. 27, 2013)

Seniors Dianna Marinaro and Shannon Kearney along with junior Allegra Gray will serve as the Blue Hen captains this fall.
Marinaro, a native of Wading River, N.Y., has played in 58 games for Delaware in the past three seasons. The midfielder tallied a career-best five assists in her sophomore campaign and has registered eight points throughout her career at Delaware.
Kearney, a forward from New Hyde Park, N.Y., has totaled 19 points in hercareer so far as a Blue Hen. Playing in 56 careergames, Kearney has scored seven goals, two of which have been game-winners.
Gray,a midfielder who hails from West Chester, Pa., was recently named to the All-Colonial Athletic AssociationPreseason Team. The junior garnered All-CAA First Team accolades in 2012. Since moving to theCAAin 2002, Grayis just thesecond defensive player and first sophomore in Delaware program history toearn first team all-conference honors. The midfielder hasplayed in 30 career games in just two seasons for Delaware.
The Blue Hens return to the pitch Friday, Aug. 30 at Rutgers for a 7 p.m. start.
