Blue Hen Men's Soccer Names 2013 Team Captains

Seniors Mark Garrity, Roberto Gimenez and Tobias Müller will represent the Blue Hens as captains this season.
Garrity, a senior from Newton, Mass., started in all 19 contests last season for Delaware. The defenseman has played in 45 career games scoring three goals and tallying eight points. Garrity has tallied a career-best 47 shots last season and has totaled 71 shots in the past three seasons. Off the field, Garrity is three-time CAA Academic Honor Roll award recipient.
Gimenez,a native of Calle Calatrava, Spain, ranked second in scoring for the Blue Hens last season scoring two goals and passing out three asssits. The forward registered a career-best 27 points in 2011 and had added 119 shots throughout his career. Gimemenz was named the 2011 CAA Rookie of the year while also earning first team All-CAA honors
during his rookie campaign. Also in 2011, Gimenez garnered second team NSCAA All-South Atlantic Region accolades.
Müller, who hails from Steinfurt, Germany, was the only Delaware student-athlete to earn All-CAA post-season honors in 2012. Most recently, Müller was named to the 2013 All-CAA Preseason squad. The defenseman scored one goal throughout the 2012 slate will serve as a key part of the Blue Hen starting lineup this fall.

Ian HennessyThe Delaware men's soccer team is set for its home-opener this Friday, Aug. 30 against UNLV at 7 p.m. The meeting of the two squads marks a
first in both team's program history. All Blue Hen home games are played at the Delaware Mini-Stadium and admission is free.
