Delaware Women's Soccer Keeps Win Streak Alive with 2-1 Win at Temple

Amber, Pa. - The University of Delaware women's soccer team won its fourth consecutive match Sunday afternoon at Ambler Field as the Blue Hens topped the Temple Owls, 2-1.
The hard fought and evenly played contest favored Delaware thanks to a two goal second half. Senior captain Shannon Kearney (bottom right) registered the first Blue Hen goal in the 51th minute of play. Kearney has scored a goal in Delaware's last two contests and leads the Blue Hen squad goals (4) and points (9). The first Delaware score was assisted by freshman Natalie Zelenky.
Delaware's second tally was scored by senior midfielder Dianna Marinaro. The unassisted goal was scored in the 60th minute of the contest and is Marinaro's first of the season.
Temple got on the board in the 68th minute of play, but the Blue Hens stifled the Owls comeback effort to earn the victory.
Senior goalkeeper Jessica Levy earned her fourth straight win between the posts. Levy stopped four of five shots she faced and now holds a 5-3 record.
