RICHMOND, Va. -- University of Delaware sophomore libero Taylor Hollingsworth was named the Colonial Athletic Association Volleyball Co-Defensive Player of the Week, the league announced Monday.
Hollingsworth (Wilmington, Del./Ursuline) led the Blue Hens with 48 digs and 8.00 digs per set last week as Delaware picked up a pair of road victories over UNCW and Elon.
Hollingsworth posted a match-high 24 digs in Thursday's straight set win at UNCW, and again led all players with 24 digs in the 3-0 triumph at Elon on Saturday.
Hollingsworth, who has led the Blue Hens in digs during every match this season, currently ranks second in the CAA and 27th in Division I by averaging 5.05 digs per set.
Following the pair of road victories, Delaware has now won four consecutive matches to move to 12-11 on the season. The Blue Hens are also tied for fourth place in the CAA standings with a 5-3 conference mark, and host Towson in a crucial league match Friday at 7 p.m. at the Bob Carpenter Center.
