WILMINGTON, Del. -- The University of Delaware softball team participated in the Halloween Hoopla 5K Walk/Run during a perfect fall Saturday morning on the Wilmington Riverfront this past weekend.
The Blue Hens began the morning helping to set up for the event, which benefited the Kind to Kids organization. The UD players and coaches participated in the 5K event, and also dressed up in Halloween costumes during the day.
Kind to Kids provides life skills education programs to children in foster care and at-risk teens, supplies to children entering foster care, and toys and books to foster children during the holidays. Through the organization's LifeSkills education program, Give Joy event program and Help-A-Kid supply drives, it brightens the lives of children in foster care, poverty and teens at-risk.
The Blue Hen softball team helped make the day a success for Kind to Kids, having fun together while joining the community that supported the event.
