Blue Hens Travel South for CAA Matchups vs. William & Mary and Elon this Weekend

NEWARK, Del. – The University of Delaware women's soccer team will look to stay unbeaten in Colonial Athletic Association play as the Blue Hens take on William & Mary and Elon on the road this weekend.
Delaware (6-5-1, 2-0-1 CAA) is coming off a 0-0 tie with Drexel Saturday in the Blue Hens' only conference road game thus far this season. Delaware is currently one of four CAA teams that have not lost a conference game.
Delaware will face William & Mary Friday at 7 p.m. at the Martin Family Stadium and take on the Phoenix Sunday at 1 p.m. at Rudd Field.
Scott GrzendaThe Blue Hens are led on offense by Nikki Adams who has tallied four goals in 12 games this season while Andi Arnold has recorded a team-high four assists. Natalie Zelenky's 40 shots this season ranks her fourth in total shots in the CAA.
Friday will be the 16th meeting between Delaware and William & Mary. The first meeting between the Blue Hens and Tribe was in 1997 and William & Mary leads the all-time series 9-3-3. The teams played to a 0-0 draw last season.
The Tribe (9-2-1, 3-1, CAA) has won eight of their last nine games and three in a row coming into Friday's matchup with the Blue Hens.
William & Mary is led by Samantha Cordum who has a team-high seven goals and five assists this season. Cordum's seven goal total is good for second in the CAA. Emory Camper is second on the team with five goals.
Sunday will be the second all-time meeting between Delaware and CAA newcomer Elon. The only meeting between the two programs took place in 2005 with the teams playing to a 1-1 tie.
Coming into the weekend, the Phoenix (4-8, 0-4 CAA) has yet to record their first CAA victory. Elon has lost four games in a row with its most recent defeat coming at the hands of UNCW by a 2-0 score. Elon has only scored one goal in its previous three games and has been shutout five times this season. The Phoenix will take on Drexel Friday before hosting Delaware Sunday.
Grace Bennett leads Elon with two goals on the year and Bethany Houpt has registered a team-high three assists this season.
