RICHMOND, Va. -- After a season that saw the Blue Hens win the Colonial Athletic Association regular season title for the first time in program history, six University of Delaware men's soccer players received All-Colonial Athletic Association honors Wednesday.
The most notable award went to UD sophomore Guillermo Delgado (left) who was named Colonial Athletic
Association Player of the Year. Delgado, who won the CAA Rookie of the Year award in 2013, established himself as one of the premier goal scorers in the country last season and continued his strong play during his sophomore campaign.
group has been ranked as a top 25 nationally for most of the
season and to have achieved this despite so many injuries and to end up with these awards for our school is an achievement they can reflect on with pride. I am also certain that they will want to share these accolades and thank a great group of teammates."Delgado was also named to the All-CAA first team along with seniors Tobias Müller (at right) and Borja Barbero (at left).
Müller (Steinfurt, Germany/Bunsen Gymnasium) scored three goals and tallied one assist in 14 games played this season. He received second team All-CAA honors in 2012 as a sophomore.
Barbero (Valladolid, Spain/Apostolado) registered 47 saves, produced a 1.08 goals-against average, and recorded six shutouts this season. The Blue Hen goalkeeper also received first team All-CAA accolades as a junior last season.
UD junior Joe Dipre (Betchworth, England/London Freemen's School/at left) was the only Blue Hen

named second team All-CAA.
The junior was second on the team with six goals and was tied for the team lead with six assists on the season. Dipre's six-assist season total was tied for second most in the CAA.
Ignacio Martín (La Laguna, Spain/The British School of Tenerife/at right) was named to the All-CAA third team.
The senior started 17 games and tallied two assists for the Blue Hens this season. He was also selected to the All-CAA third team a year ago.
Thibault Philippe (Saint-Brienc, France/Lycee Notre-dame Guingamp/below left) was named to the All-CAA Rookie team. The freshman tallied one goal and one assist in his first season with Delaware.
Junior Ben Sampson (Woodbury, Minn./Woodbury/below right) was named to the CAA All-Academic team. On the field, the junior started every game for the Blue Hens and registered one goal and one assist. In the classroom, Sampson maintains a 3.98 grade point average, while majoring in computer
