RICHMOND, Va. -- University of Delaware junior outside hitter Katie Hillman has been named to the All-Colonial Athletic Association Volleyball Second Team, as the league announced its all-conference honors on Wednesday.
Hillman, a nursing major from Deerfield Beach, Fla. (Cardinal Gibbons HS), was also the Blue Hens' representative on the CAA All-Academic Team.
Hillman has appeared in all 113 sets for Delaware this season, leading the squad and ranking sixth in the league by averaging 3.21 kills per set. She also has posted 41 services aces, good for second in the conference.
Hillman has slammed 363 kills through the regular season while recording a .224 attack percentage, and she also ranks second on the squad with 262 digs. Additionally, Hillman paces the Blue Hens with 433.5 points and ranks fifth with 55 blocks.
Hillman leads Delaware with eight double-doubles on the campaign, and has reached double figure kills in 19 matches including 11 of the last 14 contests. She fired 21 kills at James Madison on Nov. 7, the most by a Blue Hen on the season, and added 20 kills to go with 17 digs against the College of Charleston on Oct. 31.
A three-year starter for the Delaware, Hillman has recorded 968 career kills and needs just 32 more to reach 1,000 for her career.
Hillman and the Blue Hens will compete in the CAA Tournament this weekend, taking on fourth-seeded UNCW in the quarterfinals at 4 p.m. on Friday in Charleston, S.C.
