NEWARK, Del. -- University of Delaware women's golf head coach Patty Post has announced that Ashley Dingman has signed a National Letter of Intent with UD and will begin playing for the Blue Hens next fall.
Dingman, who attends South County High School in Lorton, Va., was a 2014 USGA Women's Public Links Qualifier as an alternate after carding a 76 at Laurel Hill Golf Club in May.
This fall she won the Virginia State High School 6A coed individual title by five strokes after firing a 70-72-142, while she also led South County to the team championship.
Additionally Dingman was the runner up at the 2014 Virginia State Girls Open Championship later in October, and she also earned medalist honors at the 2014 Atomic Invitational with a 72-65-137.
“We are very excited for the addition of Ashley Dingman to our women's golf program at the University of Delaware,” Post said. “She is a perfect fit. Her personality and character will allow her to be a huge success both as a student and athlete. She will represent the University of Delaware and our community well over the next four years.”
