Alexis Mettler, Anna Steinmetz Sign National Letters of Intent With University of Delaware Softball Program

NEWARK, Del. -- University of Delaware softball head coach Jaime Wohlbach has announced that Alexis Mettler and Anna Steinmetz have signed National Letters of Intent with the Blue Hens and will enroll at UD next fall.
Mettler (right), a pitcher and utility player who attends Pitman High School in Turlock, Calif., is a three-year Central California All-Conference selection. She has been named Pitman's Most Valuable Player during each of the last two seasons, after earning the Coaches Award as a freshman.
An outstanding student, Mettler has earned Academic All-Conference accolades three consecutive seasons and has made the Principals Honor Roll during all four years of high school.
Steinmetz, a catcher who attends West Chester Bayard Rustin High School in West Chester, Pa., is a three-time first team All-Ches-Mont, All-Area, and AAAA All-State honoree. A three-year team captain, Steinmetz has already belted 20 career home runs and has batted .500 or better during each of her first three seasons.
