Tina Martin drew up a play to get the ball to sharp-shooting junior Courtni Green behind the arc. The play began as planned as Green collected the pass, but she was unable to knock down the trey to tie the game. Fordham came down with the defensive rebound and Delaware was forced to foul and send the Rams to the free throw line. Taryn Durant collected both free throws with five ticks left to go up, 49-44. Erika Brown led the Hens (1-3) with 14 points while Green finished with 12 points and a team-best eight rebounds. Hannah Jardine added 10 points and seven rebounds in 39 minutes of action.

· A perennially successful program, this young Blue Hens squad is 1-3 to open the season for the first time since 2007-08 when Delaware began the year 1-0 before rattling off 11 consecutive losses.
· UD currently sits with 698 program victories since its first game during the 1971-72 season.

· Former America East foes, Vermont leads Delaware in the all-time series, 19-7.
· The Blue Hens are 1-14 all-time in Burlington.
· The two teams first mached up on Nov. 28, 1982 with UD coming out on top, 62-56, at Dartmouth.
· In the last matchup, UD defeated the reigning AE Champion Catamounts, 69-64, in overtime, to claim the America East Championship on March 10, 2011 at Patrick Gym.
· Martin is 5-8 against the Catamounts.
