Ben Sampson Named CAA Scholar-Athlete of the Year for Men's Soccer

A two-year starter, Sampson anchored a defense that allowed just 1.06 goals per game and posted seven shutouts while also scoring a goal and dishing out an assist in 2014. He has started 43 career games, led the team to 13 shutouts, and scored three goals.
Sampson is a three-time member of the CAA Academic Honor Roll, is a UD Dean's List student, conducted academic research for Delaware in the summer of 2014, and won the UD Presidential Achievement Xerox Scholarship. In addition to his academic and athletic responsibilities, he has volunteered as a youth math tutor and with the Tony Sanneh Foundation, which helps raise funds for students with brain cancer.
