STORYLINES
• After opening the season with five consecutive games on the road, the Blue Hens play their home opener against Army. This year marks the second time in three seasons that UD will be playing its home opener in December.
• Delaware fell to No. 12 Villanova, 78-47, Sunday at the Wells Fargo Center. The Blue Hens have opened a season with five consecutive losses for the ninth time in school history and the first since the 2006-07 squad started 0-9.
• Cazmon Hayes scored a game-high 17 points vs. Nova and has reached double figures in all five games this season. He has led UD in scoring in four of the five.
• Freshmen Eric Carter (6 points, 5 rebounds) and Skye Johnson (4 points, 4 rebounds) each established season-highs in both categories.
• Delaware continues to utilize a nine-man rotation of only freshmen and sophomores, and is currently the second least experienced team in the nation.
• The Blue Hens currently rank last in Division I with a 29.7 field goal percentage, and are 348th out of 351 schools with a 52.2 scoring average. UD has scored 60 points or less in five straight games for the first time since the first six games of the 1953-54 season.
• Army leads the all-time series with Delaware, 13-2, but the Blue Hens posted an 89-74 victory last season in West Point. The Black Knights are making just their second trip to Newark, and the first since a 69-56 Blue Hens win in the Delaware Field House on Dec. 8, 1987.
