University of Delaware Men's Golf Team Finishes in Tie For 15th Place at Navy Spring Invitational

ANNAPOLIS, Md. -- The University of Delaware men's golf squad posted a 312 team score on Saturday to finish in a tie for 15th place at the Navy Spring Invitational.
The Blue Hens, who fired a 309 score during Friday's opening round, finished with a two-round total of 621. Towson captured the 18-team intercollegiate with a 584 score, while the host Midshipmen were second at 592 and St. Francis (Pa.) placed third at 596.
Delaware sophomore Kyle Martin carded a six over par 77 on Saturday on the par 71, 6,528-yard USNA Golf Course, as he finished in a tie for 25th place in the individual standings with a nine over par score of 74-77-151.
Junior Niño Rosal recorded an eight over par 79 during his second round, finishing in a tie for 43rd place at 75-79-154, 12 over par. Freshman Joe Visalli tied Martin for the team's low round of the day, as he also carded a 77 to tie for 58th place with a 15 over par score of 80-77-157.
UD senior Dan Costenbader, who carded a 79 on Saturday, finished with a 17 over par 80-79-159 to tie for 67th place. Freshman Marc Oliveri fired an 83 during his second round, finishing in a tie for 87th place with a 26 over par score of 85-83-168.
Joe Gunerman of Towson was named the tournament medalist after he carded a three under par 70-69-139 at the invitational.
The Blue Hens conclude their 2013-14 regular season at the Colonial Athletic Association Championships on Apr. 25-27 at St. James Plantation in Southport, N.C.
