Bonnie Kenny has announced.
Bryant, a native of Greensboro, N.C., started all 28 matches and appeared in all 111 sets a year ago, when she led the team and ranked eighth in the Colonial Athletic Association with a .259 hitting percentage. Bryant was third on the Blue Hens with 240 kills and 2.16 kills per set last season, while she ranked second with both 20 service aces and 86 blocks.
Bryant, who also posted 50 digs during the year, blasted a career-high 18 kills against James Madison on Oct. 25 and recorded double digit kills in 12 matches.
Meyers, a native of Mission Viejo, Calif., also served as team captain last year when she led the Blue Hens with 105 blocks. Meyers, who also started all 28 matches and played in all 111 sets, ranked third on UD with a .179 hitting percentage and was fourth with 129 kills. She posted a career-high 13 kills during the JMU match, and made a career-best 10 blocks during the win over Furman on Sept. 14.
“Obviously Chandler and Jill are two very committed young women on and off the court,” Kenny said. “They provide great leadership, and will make sure our team stays together through thick and thin.”
Delaware opens its 2014 season on Friday when the Blue Hens host Albany at 7 p.m. at the Bob Carpenter Center on the first day of the UD Courtyard by Marriott Invitational.
