Post was honored as the LPGA T&CP Northeast Section Coach of the Year in August and was one of four college coaches eligible for the national award, which was selected by the LPGA T&CP Executive Committee.
Post, the only coach in Blue Hens women's golf history, recently began her fourth season in Newark this fall. Delaware has opened its 2014 fall season in impressive fashion, defending its Tignanelli Towson Invitational team title by edging the host Tigers in a tiebreaker. Additionally, UD junior Nathalie Filler became the first medalist in Blue Hen history, after she posted a two-shot victory with a two over par score of 75-71-146.
Last year Post, whose husband Brendon serves as her assistant coach, guided Delaware to an outstanding season in which the Blue Hens finished among the top five in all but one tournament. UD claimed team titles at the Tignanelli Towson Invitational, Rutgers Invitational and Delaware Invitational, and capped its year by tying for second place at the CAA Championships.
The Blue Hens' team average round of 78.74 was the lowest in the three-year history of the program, while Amanda Terzian was the first all-conference selection in program history as she was named second team All-CAA. Delaware also excelled academically, as Baralee Theinthong was named the CAA Scholar-Athlete of the Year for Women's Golf while the team earned the NCAA APR Academic Recognition Award.
“I am very honored to have been chosen this year's LPGA National Coach of the Year. This is one of the highlights of my coaching career that I will cherish for a lifetime!” Post told the LPGA. “This award is truly more of a credit to the people surrounding me at the University of Delaware. My players and my assistants have worked very hard to build this program and get it going in the right direction from the beginning.”
The LPGA T&CF Coach of the Year award was established in 1980 and is awarded annually to an LPGA Teaching and Club Professional member who is actively engaged in teaching and/or coaching golf at the collegiate or high school level.
