NEW ORLEANS -- The University of Delaware women's cross country squad, which won two of three dual meets at the Towson Invitational last week, remained at the No. 12 spot in this week's U.S. Track & Field/Cross Country Coaches Association Mid-Atlantic Regional.
The Blue Hens, led by head coach Wendy McFarlane, have been ranked in the Top 15 each week during the season.
Delaware defeated host Towson and Bowie State in a quad meet last Friday at Towson. Earlier this season, Delaware captured the team title at its own Delaware Invitational and placed third at the Lehigh Invitational.
Georgetown remained at the No. 1 spot in the poll this week and was followed by Villanova, Penn State, West Virginia, Princeton, Penn, Pittsburgh, Duquesne, Navy, Lehigh, UMBC, Delaware, Bucknell, LaSalle, and Maryland.
Delaware will take this weekend off and will return to action Oct. 4 when the Hens take part in the Paul Short Invitational at Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pa.
