Brown Uses Pair of Second Half Goals To Post 2-1 Comeback Win Over Blue Hens

PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- The Brown University women's soccer team used a pair of second half goals to post a 2-1 comeback victory over the University of Delaware in non-conference action Sunday afternoon at Stevenson Field.
The Blue Hens fell to 2-3 on the season, dropping three consecutive matches by identical 2-1 scores.
Delaware struck first 31:59 into the match when sophomore midfielder Nikki Adams took a feed from Elise Krause and found the back of the net to put the Blue Hens in front. Adams' goal was her team-leading third of the year, while Krause posted her first assist of the campaign.
However the Bears, who improved to 2-0 on the year, knotted the contest at the 54:04 mark when Chloe Cross converted a penalty kick. The teams remained tied until 17:06 remained, when Carly Gould headed home a cross from the left side to put the Bears in front.
Mallory Yant needed to make just one save in the Brown net, while Blue Hen goalkeeper Kailyn Rekos stopped two shots for Delaware.
Scott GrzendaThe Blue Hens will look to get back on track on Friday when they take on Ball State at 4 p.m. in Annapolis, Md. on the first day of the Navy Invitational.

• Adams scored for the second straight game and became the first UD player to score in consecutive games since Emily Market scored in three straight late last season
• Adams has scored three of the Blue Hens' seven goals this season
• Krause's assist was the second of her career
• The Blue Hens have out-shot their opponents 90-38 this season
• The match was the first ever meeting between Delaware and Brown
