Blue Hens Conclude Regular Season This Weekend at Hofstra, Northeastern

NEWARK, Del. -- The University of Delaware women's soccer team concludes its 2015 regular season this weekend at Hofstra and Northeastern as the Blue Hens will look to secure a spot in the upcoming CAA Tournament.
Delaware will take on the Pride at 7 p.m. on Friday in Hempstead, before facing the Huskies at 1 p.m. on Sunday in Boston in the regular season finale. Live video and live stats will be available for both matches.
The Blue Hens are 7-7-2 overall this year and currently sit in sixth place in the league standings with a 2-3-2 mark for eight points, holding the final league tournament spot. Charleston is currently chasing UD in seventh place with seven points, although the Cougars have just one match remaining on Sunday at UNCW. Drexel has six points, and also faces Northeastern and Hofstra on the road this weekend.
The CAA Tournament quarterfinals will be held on Sunday Nov. 1, with the regular season champion hosting the semifinals and championship match on Nov. 6-8.
Delaware split its final two home matches last weekend, defeating Elon, 3-0, before suffering a 2-0 loss to William & Mary. Natalie Zelenky continues to lead the Blue Hens with 11 goals, which are tied for the CAA lead and tied for the seventh most in a UD single season. Zelenky is also fourth in the conference with 23 points, while her five game-winning goals this year are the third most in school history.
Riley Curtin is tied for fifth in the conference with a team-high five assists, while she and Krista Trinidad have each contributed three goals on the campaign.
Hofstra, which is 11-4-1 overall and leads the CAA with a 5-1-1 league record, is receiving votes in this week's NSCAA national poll. The Pride is unbeaten in its last four games, including a 2-1 overtime win at Northeastern last Friday. Leah Galton is tied with Zelenky for the CAA lead with 11 goals, while she has recorded a conference-high 27 points on the year. Jill Mulholland has added seven goals for the Pride, while Kristen Desmond has dished out a CAA-leading seven assists.
Northeastern enters the weekend with an 11-5-1 overall record, and the Huskies are tied for fourth place in the league with a 4-2-1 mark. Northeastern had won four consecutive matches prior to the overtime defeat to the Pride last weekend. Mackenzie Dowd and Hannah Lopiccolo have each scored six goals to pace the Huskies, while Jill Quinn has posted a 1.18 goals against average in net.
