Blue Hens in Sixth Place Following First Day of Princeton Invitational

PRINCETON, N.J. -- The University of Delaware women's golf team recorded a 319 score during Saturday's opening round of the Princeton Invitational to end the day in sixth place out of 15 squads.
The host Tigers lead the field with a 306 score, followed by Columbia at 312 and Rutgers at 315.
Blue Hen senior Nathalie Filler and freshman Valentina Mueller each carded a six over par 78 on the par 72, 6,100-yard Springdale Golf Course, as both players ended the day tied for 13th place.
Freshman Ashley Dingman is tied for 29th place following her nine over par 81, while senior Vimonthip Benjasupawan is tied for 38th place after firing a 10 over par 82. Junior Marie Bogenez, who carded a 17 over par 89, currently sits in a tie for 76th place.
Tenley Shield of Princeton and Isabelle Kane of Dartmouth are each tied for the individual lead after both players carded a two over par 74.
The second and final round of the tournament will begin at 8 a.m. on Sunday.
