NEWARK, Del. -- The University of Delaware volleyball team will head south for a pair of Colonial Athletic Association matches this week after the Blue Hens' schedule was altered due to heavy rains and flooding in the Southeast.
Delaware will now face UNCW on Monday at 3 p.m. in Trask Coliseum, before taking on the College of Charleston on Tuesday at 2 p.m. in TD Arena. Free live video and live stats will be available for both matches.
UD is 8-7 overall and 0-2 in the conference heading into the pair of matches, as the Blue Hens have been off since last Sunday's five-set home loss to Towson.
Autumn Jenkins continues to lead Delaware with 2.76 kills per set, while Katie Hillman ranks second on the squad with a 2.63 kills average. Alexa Swann ranks fifth in the league with a .308 attack percentage, while Chandler Bryant is seventh in that category with a .296 hitting percentage. Ariel Shonk is posting a league-best 5.32 digs per set for the Blue Hens, while Julia Anderson is third in the conference with a 9.17 assist average.
The Seahawks are 11-4 overall and 2-1 in league play entering Monday's contest with UD, with CAA victories over Charleston and Northeastern before a 3-2 setback to Hofstra. UNCW leads the conference with 3.11 blocks pet set, and is holding opponents to a league-low .134 hitting percentage. Nicole Lott paces the Seahawks with 3.71 kills per set, while Anna Moss (1.52) and Meredith Peacock (1.32) are first and second in the CAA in blocks per set.
Charleston, which was picked to win the CAA title, is just 8-8 overall and 0-2 in the conference heading into Tuesday's match. Maddie Hills ranks third in the CAA with a .340 attack percentage while Melissa Morello is also third with 3.72 kills per set for the Cougars, who opened league action with five-set losses to UNCW and Hofstra.
Delaware leads the all-time series with UNCW, 24-7, although the Seahawks defeated the Blue Hens in last year's CAA Tournament First Round. UD is 2-6 against Charleston, with four losses to the Cougars since they joined the league in 2013.
