UD Women's Golfers Finish Seventh at Princeton Invitational

PRINCETON, N.J. -- The University of Delaware women's golf team slipped one spot to finish seventh out of 15 squads this weekend at the Princeton Invitational.
After carding a 319 score during Saturday's round, the Blue Hens recorded a 327 on Sunday to finish with a 646 total for the tournament. Harvard captured the team title with a 616 score, followed by Princeton at 617 and Columbia at 623.
UD freshman Valentina Mueller fired a seven over par 79 on Sunday on the par 72, 6,100-yard Springdale Golf Course, finishing in a tie for 16th place in the individual standings with a 13 over par 78-79-157.
Senior Nathalie Filler tied for 27th place with an 18 over par 78-84-162 during the invitational, while classmate Vimonthip Benjasupawan carded a 20 over par 82-82-164 to tie for 34th place.
Freshman Ashley Dingman tied for 59th place after her 25 over par score of 81-88-169, while junior Marie Bogenez tied for 68th place with a 27 over par 89-82-171.
Jacquelyn Eleey of Georgetown earned medalist honors with a five over par 76-73-149 to post a three-shot victory.
Delaware returns to action on Oct. 16-17 when the Blue Hens compete in the Rutgers Invitational in Piscataway, N.J.
