Blue Hen Cross Country Finishes 18th at NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regionals

PRINCETON, N.J. -- The University of Delaware women's cross country team finished in 18th place as the Blue Hens competed in the NCAA Division I Mid-Atlantic Regionals Friday afternoon at Princeton University.
Delaware totaled 503 points on the afternoon to finish in 18th place out of 30 squads. Penn State captured the team title with 60 points, while Georgetown was second at 75 points and the host Tigers finished third with 80 points.
Blue Hen junior Betsy Erlanger was Delaware's top finisher for the fourth race this fall, as she finished in 70th place by completing the six-kilometer course in a time of 22:41.8. Freshman Lauren Zodl finished in 90th place with a time of 23:06.5, while sophomore Liz McGroarty came in 103rd with a time of 23:20.2.
Freshman Leanza Lopez finished the course in 23:30.0 to place 119th, while classmate Emily Paolucci came in 121st place with a time of 23:30.7. Junior Gabby Alaimo was 124th with a time of 23:39.9, while sophomore Adrienne Fraczkowski finished in 24:35.1 to place 160th at the race.
Blanca Fernandez of Temple was the meet's individual champion with a time of 20.52.0
The Blue Hens will conclude their 2015 season on Saturday, Nov. 21 at the ECAC Championships at Van Cortlandt State Park in Bronx, N.Y.
