Delaware Wraps Up Season With Seventh Place Finish at ECAC Championships

BRONX, N.Y. -- The University of Delaware women's cross country team concluded its 2015 season by finishing in seventh place at the ECAC Championships on Saturday at Van Cortlandt State Park.
The young Blue Hen squad, which included four freshmen and four sophomores, totaled 160 points during the race to finish seventh out of eight schools. Columbia captured the championship with 38 points, followed by James Madison at 55 points and Iona at 82 points.
Delaware sophomore Liz McGroarty was the Blue Hens' top finisher for the third meet this fall as she covered the five-kilometer course in 19:16.1 to place 28th, while freshman Lauren Zodl came in 33rd place with a time of 19:20.1.
Freshman Leanza Lopez finished 34th by crossing the line in 19:21.0, while classmate Emily Paolucci placed 37th with her time of 19:25.1. Angie Spadaccini finished 56th in 20:17.8, while fellow sophomore Erin McCloskey was 61st with a time of 20:28.3. Sophomore Maddie Berman finished the race in 20:46.3 to place 65th, while freshman Kathleen Dailey was 71st with a time of 21:16.4.
Carol Strock of James Madison was the individual winner as she crossed the finish line with a time of 17:42.3.
