RICHMOND, Va. – Delaware women's basketball freshman Nicole Enabosi (Gaithersburg, Md./Our Lady of Good Counsel) has made quite the impression in her first three collegiate games and the Colonial Athletic Association took notice by naming her this week's Rookie of the Week.
Enabosi averaged a double double for the Blue Hens (2-1) with 16.5 points and 11.5 rebounds to go along with 2.0 blocks per game and a .500 (9-18) shooting percentage. She began the week by notching 10 points and a season-high 13 rebounds and three blocks to power UD to a 56-50 victory at Marist Thursday. She followed with a season-best 23 points and 10 rebounds in addition to a game-high four steals and a blocked shot in Sunday's loss against East Carolina at home.
The forward opened the year with 11 points and 10 rebounds versus Lafayette and has since become the first player in program history to record double doubles in each of her first three career games in a Delaware uniform.
For the season, Enabosi leads the Hens with 14.7 points, 11.0 rebounds, 2.3 steals and 1.7 blocked shots per game.
Shay Burnett (Elon) and Ashunae Durant (Hofsra) collected CAA Co-Player of the Week accolades.
Delaware plays its next six games on the road and will first travel to San Diego, Calif. this weekend for the San Diego State Thanksgiving Classic. The Blue Hens will face Wisconsin Friday at 7 p.m. and will follow with a 3 p.m. contest against North Dakota State on Sunday.
