STORYLINES
• Delaware opens Colonial Athletic Association play against CAA preseason favorite Hofstra, the first of 18 consecutive league contests for the Blue Hens.
• UD dropped its third straight game on Tuesday at Buffalo, 99-79, as the Blue Hens allowed their most points on the season.
• Marvin King-Davis recorded his CAA-leading sixth double-double of the season by posting team-highs of 19 points and 10 rebounds.
• Cazmon Hayes contributed 15 points for the Blue Hens, while fellow guards Anthony Mosley and Kory Holden chipped in 13 apiece. Mosley also grabbed a career-best nine rebounds.
• Delaware is 8-6 during its CAA openers, including 5-4 under Monté Ross. The Blue Hens had won four consecutive conference openers before last year's 72-53 home loss to Northeastern. UD is playing its first league road game at Hofstra for the second consecutive season.
• The game is the second of three in a 91-hour stretch for the Blue Hens, who are back home on Saturday to host James Madison at 12 noon.
• Delaware faces the top three teams in the CAA preseason poll (Hofstra, JMU, Northeastern) in its first three league games.
• The Blue Hens are 1-3 all-time on New Year's Eve, with their lone win coming over Rider, 84-72, on Dec. 31, 2012.
• Hofstra leads the all-time series with Delaware, 50-31, and the Pride swept both games last year. Delaware had won three straight at the Mack Sports Complex before last year's 71-58 Hofstra victory in Hempstead.
