Blue Hens Tied For 16th Place After First Day of Edwin Watts/Kiawah Island Spring Classic

KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. -- The University of Delaware women's golf squad posted a 318 team score on Sunday and is tied for 16th place out of 40 teams following the first day of the Edwin Watts/Kiawah Island Spring Classic.
North Florida leads the field with a 297 team score followed by Troy at 298, Chattanooga at 299, and College of Charleston and Western Carolina at 300.
Andi Slane is tied for 29th place in the individual standings with a four over par 76 on the par 72 course at Kiawah Island Golf Resort. Rachel Lee, Vimonthip Benjasupawan and Natalie Filler each carded an eight over par 80 to end the day tied for 75th place.Amanda Terzian and Vitoria Teixeira both fired a 10 over par 82 on Sunday to finish the round in a tie for 118th place.
Melania Bajo Geijo of Jacksonville State leads the field with a four under par 68 during her opening round.
The second round of the three-round tournament begins Monday at 9:30 a.m.
