Slane Ties School Record With 69, Tied For 5th Place at Edwin Watts/Kiawah Island Spring Classic

Slane posted five birdies to finish at three under par on the par 72, 5,901-yard Oak Point course at Kiawah Island, tying the school record of 69 set by Amanda Terzian at Lakewood Ranch (Fla.) Country Club this fall. Slane is tied for fifth place in the 150-player field with a one over par score of 76-69-145 heading into Tuesday's final round.
Slane helped the Blue Hens card a 299 team score on Monday, as Delaware moved up six spots and sits in 10th place out of 40 squads with a two-round total of 617. College of Charleston leads the field with a 588 score, while Troy is second at 598.
Freshman Rachel Lee fired a one over par 73 during her round on Monday, and is tied for 37th place with a nine over par 80-73-153. Vimonthip Benjasupawan is 15 over par with an 80-79-159 to tie for 78th place, while Vitoria Teixeira is tied for 92nd with a 16 over par 82-78-160.
Nathalie Filler is tied for 114th place with a 17 over par 80-81-161, while Terzian has carded a 21 over par 82-83-165 to tie for 146th place.
By finishing the second round among the top 20 schools, Delaware will compete on the Osprey Point course on Tuesday for the team championship. The final round will begin with a shotgun start at 9 a.m.
