Blue Hens in 26th Place After First Day of Middleburg Bank Intercollegiate

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. -- The University of Delaware men's golf team carded a 308 score on Sunday and sits in 26th place following the first day of the Middleburg Bank Intercollegiate hosted by William & Mary.
Radford and Loyola (Md.) are each tied atop the 30-team field, as both squads fired 283 team scores during the opening round.
Blue Hen junior Kyle Martin posted a four over par 74 on the par 70, 6,765-yard River Course at Kingsmill Resort, finishing the day in a tie for 50th place. Freshman Jack Gianniny is tied for 67th place after his five over par 75 during his opening round, while classmate Kieran Purcell is tied for 107th place following his eight over par 78.
Marc Oliveri carded an 11 over par 81 to end the day tied for 133rd place, while Blaine Lafferty is tied for 145th after his 12 over par 82 opening round.
Delaware will tee off at 12:50 p.m. on Monday during the second round of the three-round tournament.
