Blue Hen Men's Golfers Finish in 20th Place at Middleburg Bank Intercollegiate

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. -- The University of Delaware men's golf team fired a 300 score during Tuesday's final round at the Middleburg Bank Intercollegiate hosted by William & Mary, finishing in 20th place at the tournament.
The Blue Hens, who posted a 308 score on Sunday and a 301 on Monday, finished 20th out of 30 squads with a three-round total of 909. Radford and Loyola (Md.) each recorded 859 scores, with the Highlanders capturing the team title with a three-hole playoff victory.
UD junior Kyle Martin carded his third consecutive round of 74 on Tuesday on the par 70, 6,765-yard River Course at Kingsmill Resort, as he tied for 48th place with a 12 over par score of 74-74-74-222. Kieran Purcell again had the lowest round of the day by a Delaware player, as he fired a 73 and tied for 54th place at 78-72-73-223, 13 over par.
Jack Gianniny recorded a 23 over par 75-79-79-233 to tie for 106th place at the tournament, while Marc Oliveri tied for 111th with his 24 over par score of 81-76-77-234. Blaine Lafferty carded a 31 over par 82-83-76-241 at the invitational to finish in a tie for 140th place.
Matt Oshrine of Loyola (Md.) earned medalist honors with a two under par score of 70-72-66-208.
Delaware is back in action next Monday and Tuesday at the Wildcat Invitational hosted by Villanova at White Manor Country Club in Malvern, Pa.
