Gianniny, Martin Lead Delaware Men's Golfers To Second Place Finish at Wildcat Invitational

MALVERN, Pa. -- The University of Delaware men's golf team carded a 290 score during Tuesday's round at the Villanova Wildcat Invitational, finishing in second place out of 16 teams at the tournament.
The Blue Hens, who fired a 294 on Monday, finished with a two-round total of 584, three shots behind team champion Binghamton. Delaware has now finished in second place during four of its nine tournaments on the year.
UD freshman Jack Gianniny posted a one under par 70 during Tuesday's round on the par 71, 7,055-yard course at White Manor Country Club, finishing in second place with a one under par score of 71-70-141. Gianniny finished behind only tournament medalist Billy Johns of Lehigh, who carded a two under par 73-67-140.
Kyle Martin tied for third place at the invitational with a one over par 72-71-143, while Kieran Purcell carded a six over par 72-76-148 to finish in a tie for 16th place.
Niño Rosal tied for 22nd place with a seven over par 74-75-149 while Blaine Lafferty tied for 24th place with an eight over par 75-75-150, as both Blue Hens played as individuals during the tournament.
Erik Dulik fired a 10 over par 79-73-152 to end up in a tie for 40th place, while Fraser Graham finished 48th with a 12 over par 76-78-154. Colin McKenna carded a 30 over par 82-90-172 to finish in 94th place at the invitational.
The Blue Hens will be back in action on Apr. 10-11 when they compete in the Liberty Spring Invitational.
