Anderson Named All-CAA Third Team; Holden, Corbett Earn All-Rookie Honors

BALTIMORE, Md. – University of Delaware men's basketball senior guard Kyle Anderson was named third team All-Colonial Athletic Association while freshmen Kory Holden and Chivarsky Corbett were selected to the CAA All-Rookie Team, the league announced Thursday night.
Additionally Anderson (Newark, Ill./Newark), who carries a 3.25 GPA as a health and physical education major, earned first team All-Academic honors for the third consecutive year. Anderson has started all 22 games in which he has appeared this season, leading the team and ranking sixth in the league by averaging 14.6 points per game. He has reached double figures in all but two contests, including a season-high 25 points at Elon.
Anderson, the school's leader in three-pointers made and attempted, currently ranks 14th in UD history with 1,281 career points.
Holden (Salisbury, Md./J.M. Bennett) has enjoyed a stellar rookie season, leading the Blue Hens with 139 assists while ranking second with 12.1 points per game. He currently ranks second in the CAA by dishing out 5.0 assists per game, and is seventh with a 1.5 assist/turnover ratio. A four-time CAA Rookie of the Week honoree, Holden has scored in double figures 17 times including a season-high 27 during the home win over St. Bonaventure.
Corbett (Tampa, Fla./Tampa Catholic) has appeared in all 29 games during his freshman campaign, averaging 8.8 points and 4.2 rebounds per game. He ranks third on the team with 45 three-pointers made and is seventh in the conference with a 38.8 three-point percentage. Corbett has reached double digits in 13 games, and scored a season-high 21 points at Robert Morris.
This year marks just the second time that UD has put two players on the conference All-Rookie Team, as Alex Coles and Mark Murray each made the East Coast Conference All-Rookie Team in 1988-89.
Marcus Thornton of William & Mary was named the CAA Player of the Year, while Elijah Bryant of Elon took home CAA Rookie of the Year honors. Terry Tarpey of William & Mary was tabbed the CAA Defensive Player of the Year, while Kevin Keatts of UNCW was honored with the CAA Coach of the Year award. Caleb Donnelly of Northeastern and Tom Schalk of William & Mary each earned the Dean Ehlers Leadership Award.
Delaware finished the regular season at 10-19, and the Blue Hens earned the sixth seed in the CAA Tournament with a 9-9 league mark. UD will take on third-seeded Northeastern in the tournament quarterfinals at 8:30 p.m. Saturday at Royal Farms Arena in Baltimore.
